Who would have thought…
Learning how to dance Salsa certainly was not on top of my to-do-list when I set off travelling the world in 2013.
After having quit my job the idea was to spend one year exploring different regions of this planet, experiencing different cultures and trying different things I had never done before.
The first stop of my trip around the world was Bali, the magical Island of Gods, and yoga central in Asia. A mere 3 weeks into my stay a dear friend from Europe came visiting and had the great idea to try Salsa dancing at a class taught at a local yoga studio where we hung out every day.
Before I knew it my daily routine included dance classes almost on a daily basis, social dancing at local restaurants and bars and learning from incredible teachers.
And that was the beginning and the end of my trip around the world. Instead of travelling I stayed on Bali. Over the course of more than 4 years I learned Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba dancing, started teaching private classes, took up teaching Salsa workshops in Australia and Europe and organising dance retreats with our local Balinese Salsa teachers and international guest teachers from Europe.
